Nova Scotia shooting: 'Our hearts are broken. My heart is broken' says RCMP commissioner

Nova Scotia shooting: 'Our hearts are broken. My heart is broken' says RCMP commissioner RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki expressed the sadness and grief many across Nova Scotia and the RCMP are feeling after the tragic shooting over the weekend that claimed the lives of at least 19 people including RCMP Constable Heidi Stevenson.

Public Safety Minister Bill Blair also expressed his condolences for the RCMP and the province of Nova Scotia and said the government will do whatever it can to support the RCMP in the investigation.

Blair also addressed questions around the government's stance on gun control and what the timeline would be to bring forward legislation on such measures. Blair said there was no timeline due to the current situation with COVID-19 but that the government remains committed to the measures.
