The Zone is a kid-made tv show created in 2020 during the stay-at-home quarantine as part of our home school curriculum. The name The Zone is inspired by the concept of "The Zone of Proximal Development" in which kids learns by being challenged at a level just above what they currently know. The children (and one adult) working on this project will explore all forms of movie making, with their involvement increasing as their "zone" shifts with new knowledge of cameras, video, editing, acting, computers, and other aspects of learning and technology. The content of our show integrates other important learning standards including art, music, language, mathematics, life skills, social-emotional skills, and so on, generally geared toward a PreK or early Elementary audience.
