INSTANTLY Know Which Scale To Use

INSTANTLY Know Which Scale To Use ►►FREE Theory Course
►►David’s music:

Today, I will show you the simplest way to know which scale to use over any chord progression.

A scale creates a mood and when we play that scale over a bass note a series of intervallic relationships are established. That bass note works like a magnet that attracts all the notes in the scale.

If we take a minor chord we can almost always match it with a minor pentatonic scale. When we add another chord we can superimpose that new chord over the minor pentatonic scale and see which new notes should be added.

The more chords you add, the more complete the scale gets. The beauty of this method is that you don't need to know all the chords. You only need to know the first chord. If the first chord is minor you can use the minor pentatonic scale, if it is major you can use the major pentatonic scale.
