Some “lonely” garden eels in Japan are being given a distraction from Covid-19 pandemic isolation. Keepers at Tokyo’s Sumida Aquarium, which has been closed since March, noticed that the creatures were becoming a bit too shy to monitor. The aquarium is appealing to the public to use video calling software to dial in and keep the eels more socially engaged.
