Remember a person can gain more benefit if that person performs prayers in a mosque by following the leads of imam. generally fard [obligatory] prayer has to perform behind the leads of imam; however, there are some exceptions too. When a person intent to pray/niyat behind the leads of imam; intention to pray/niyat has to change slightly than that person intent to pray and perform prayer alone. In every intention to pray/niyat you will find [allahuu akbar], it is not part of the intention rather it is a part of salah/prayer/namaaz. That’s mean your salah/prayer/namaaz begin the moment you say ‘taqbeer-e-tahreema’ [allahuu akbar].
