U.S. COVID-19 deaths happened weeks earlier than first known fatality

U.S. COVID-19 deaths happened weeks earlier than first known fatality New autopsy results show that two people in California died of coronavirus up to three weeks before the previously-known first U.S. death from COVID-19. They died on February 6 and 17. It was previously believed that the first coronavirus death in the U.S. happened on February 29 in Washington state. Santa Clara County officials say the two had no "significant travel history" that would have exposed them to the virus.
