It is said that diabetes is related to the diet and lifestyle of a person. But a new study has found that women who start having periods at a young age. They have an increased risk of type 2 diabetes. This study has also said that body mass index (BMI) can also be worsened by this.

Type 2 diabetes has become one of the commonest diseases worldwide, as it has affected around 8.8 percent of people aged 20 to 79 globally in 2015.
In this study, about 15,000 such Chinese women were inspected, whose periods had stopped coming. In which it was revealed that women who started having periods at an early age and were at greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes. At the same time, among women who started having late periods, the chances of having type 2 diabetes decrease by about 6 percent.
Dr. Stephanie Fobian of the North American Menopause Society Medical Director says that the longer the onset of periods in women, the greater the risk of suffering from type 2 diabetes.
Dr. Phobian also said that if the period starts coming at the age of 14, then the chances of getting this disease become more. Not only this, getting the right amount of nutrition in childhood also plays an important role in keeping this disease away.
