Reportedly, the line Boroloker bitilo, lomba lomba chul, Emon mathay bnedhe debo lal genda phool in the song "Genda Phool" was taken from the 1970s song "Borloker Bitilo" by folk singer Ratan Kahar. When approached by a website regarding the issue, Kahar stated "if people are dishonest, what can I do" and added that he did not have enough money to file a case in court. Responding to the allegation, Payal Dev said that folk songs do not have rights and the same song had been "used six to seven times" without any credit.
