The Tea Ladies of Khartoum, Sudan | With Manal

Khartoum has the best (and most underrated) coffee scene in the world, thanks to its thousands of tea ladies, many of whom come from the Nuba Mountains, South Sudan and Darfur. Here, in the Unity Market, their small tea houses are popular with young working class men, including wrestlers (there is a wrestling stadium nearby). This video shows Manal as she prepares coffee with cardamom and ginger, and tea with mint, cloves and cinnamon, for her wrestler customers.
