Some call it hyper carry, some call it funneling while others call it 1-3-1.
The concept is similar regardless of what you want to call it.
The strategy requires three heroes in the mid lane which is usually composed of a tank, support and carry.
The other lanes are each occupied by two fighters.
The heroes in the mid are responsible for ganking and clearing the jungle.
They will rotate around the map and help the offlaners whenever possible.
The idea is to ensure that the carry is well farmed.
To do this, the support and tank must use a roam item so that all the gold is funneled to the carry.
The carry will clear the jungle which means they will take both the red and blue buff.
So in choosing the carry, it's better if the hero benefits from the two buff.
The usual heroes used as a carry are Ling, Claude, Karrie, Bruno and Granger.
As for the supports, Diggie and Nana works well with this strategy because they can place wards with their skills.
But if I were to choose between the two, it's got to be Diggie.
His crowd control immunity from his ultimate helps the carry get out of sticky situations.
The role of the two fighters in the top and bottom lane is to push and help in team fights whenever there is a chance.
They should be able to hold their lanes without getting pushed too much.
The tank and the support will make sure their carry doesn't die because that is where all their resources are.
As for the carry, their role is to farm as fast as possible while also getting kills from ganks.
And because the carry owns all the jungle, a level three jungle item is recommended for higher experience.
This strategy can backfire when your carry starts dying.
The carry won't be able to snowball, putting your entire team in danger.
What's even worse is when your carry goes AFK.
In this game, I'm gonna show each hero's gold so that you can see the effect of this strategy.
By the way, this game is a solo queue. We didn't talk about it during draft but it seems they know how it works.
It's a lot easier to pull this off with a 5 man or even trio as long as everyone cooperates.
In this game, I had to use Khufra because there was a Gusion in the enemy team.
For Khufra I usually build these two unless certain enemy heroes require a counter item.
The shoe is either Tough or Warrior boots.
I also use the tank talent Brave Smite for the extra heal.
If you look at gold you can see Karrie having a huge difference compared to all of us.
At this stage, Karrie's gold lead is now more than double compared to the enemy's highest gold earner.
